Because Harris is a proven climate champion

Kamala Harris and Tim Walz love their country. Even though their adversaries call the United States the “worst country in the world,” Kamala and Tim look at the US with the same sense of pride that Olympic athletes feel as they stand atop the medal podium with tears in their eyes as their national anthem plays. They will do what it takes to preserve the fundamental freedoms of all citizens, including future generations, by pushing laws through Congress that keep our air and water clean and allow people to “live free from the pollution that fuels the climate crisis,”as Kamala stated during her DNC acceptance speech.

Kamala has been called a “proven climate champion” and endorsed by several environmental groups. She helped pass the Inflation Reduction Act, which invests in clean energy, climate mitigation and resilience, agriculture, and conservation programs, and the Green New Deal, which calls for laws to address climate change. Tim, as governor of Minnesota, proudly approved clean energy laws in his state. He said that Minnesota is now getting over half of its power from renewable sources. Amelia Vohs, the climate program director at the Minnesota Center for Environmental Advocacy has said, “If Governor Walz becomes our VP, I hope he could help bring some of this thinking to the federal level. It would make an incredible difference in the nation’s progress on climate.” While their opponents seek to exploit our nation’s natural resources for financial gain, Kamala and Tim fight to protect and preserve the environment and all who are affected by climate change now.

Most importantly, Kamala and Tim will make sure the United States stays an active member of the Paris Climate Agreement to safeguard our global community and, as Kamala Harris asserted, “our children’s future.”
