Because Kamala Harris is the greatest hope we have toward a path of unity for our country

“I believe America cannot truly be prosperous unless Americans are fully able to make their own decisions about their own lives, especially on matters of heart and home.” —Kamala Harris

I stand with Kamala Harris on most issues, but this quote really distills the main reason why I support her presidency. All Americans deserve the freedom to be who we are and love who we want without fear, and have full autonomy over our bodies and reproductive health. I have several friends and family members who would not have been able to start a family if it were not for IVF, and I shudder to think of a world where that is not possible for others. I agree that, as Tim Walz says with amazing gusto, “The government [should] stay the hell out of our bedrooms.”

The Tao says that a true leader knows how to lead from within—not as one above us, but as one of us, working with us and for us. In that sense, I believe Kamala Harris shines with the radiant light of a true leader and great listener.

No candidate is ever perfect, but I trust that Kamala Harris is the greatest hope we have toward a path of unity for our country.

Listening is becoming a forgotten art. As we navigate these times of extreme division, I aspire to listen with an open heart and open mind to those who disagree with me. That is the only way we can hear each other and reach a new understanding. While we may not agree on topics A, B, and C, we will likely agree on many other things. Only through compassionate listening and communication can we discover a shared vision. Then, we can work to make those dreams come true together.
The Tao says that a true leader knows how to lead from within—not as one above us, but as one of us, working with us and for us. In that sense, I believe Kamala Harris shines with the radiant light of a true leader and great listener.

We can and should dare to dream of a world of fairness in the United States and work for it with leaders who share those values. I believe that Harris and Walz can set this country on the road to being a proud global partner working for true harmony, equality, and justice for all. I urge everyone to get out and vote and help get them elected this November.
